TNC Kazchrome JSC
is a fully integrated mining and metals business covering all stages of the value chain, from geological exploration, mining and mineral processing to the manufacturing of high value-added metal products.
The main raw material base for the production of Kazakhstan's ferroalloys is at the Aktobe and Aksu smelters, also part of ERG. At the end of 2024, a milestone in the history of Kazakhstan's modern mining industry took place here - the new Bolashak mine (the second phase of the 10th Anniversary of Kazakhstan mine) was launched. As a result of the new facility, Kazakhstan will not only be able to increase production volumes up to 2 million tonnes of ferroalloys per year, but also improve the quality of its products, securing its leading position in the global market.
One of the largest ferroalloy producers in the world. It annually produces more than 1 million tonnes of products, most of which are exported to non-CIS countries. The unique feature of the enterprise is the combination of large-scale production of chromium, silicon and manganese alloys necessary for smelting various steel grades. The enterprise, which has set itself the goal of becoming a leader in the industry and gradually increasing its capacity, is carrying out large-scale modernisation of production. Among the industry know-how is the renovation of the most powerful unit of the plant - melting shop No.6. The first result of the renovation is ferroalloy furnace No. 64, which is fully hermetically sealed. Insulation of the vault made it possible to capture and utilise all ferroalloy gas and use part of it for preheating of raw materials and ladles. This innovation reduces electricity consumption during melting and facilitates metal extraction from the process vessels.
The pioneer of ferrous metallurgy in Kazakhstan, today it is a modern, steadily developing enterprise with production volumes of more than 700 thousand tonnes of ferroalloys per year. The newest division of Aktobe Ferroalloys Plant is the smelting shop No. 4. With the launch of the shop in 2014, the enterprise can call itself a leader in the development of DC furnaces. Four DC furnaces are the most powerful in the world - 72 MW. And because of the advanced technical solutions implemented by the plant's workers, today the shop is operating at 75 MW with the prospect of transition to 80 MW.
Established in 2004. It is engaged in processing of manganese raw materials and enrichment of fine sands, which allows it to send more than 100 thousand tonnes of manganese concentrate to Kazchrome's ferroalloy plants every year.
