The Eurasian Resources Group is committed to efficient use of resources and reduction of adverse environmental impacts of the Group’s operations; in 2003, the Group was one of the first companies in Kazakhstan to implement formal environmental management systems in production of ferroalloys, iron ore, alumina and aluminium and in energy production.
By 2009, all production facilities in the country were issued with international certificates of conformity. In addition, the Group was the first in Kazakhstan to adopt a policy on chemicals aimed at reducing the impact of hazardous waste through implementation of a chemical waste control system. Measures already taken to reduce the Group's environmental impact include the following:
